Mark joined Aware Super (formally known as First State Super) in May 2014 in his current role as head of infrastructure, based in Sydney. He is responsible for overall sector performance, strategy setting, origination, implementation, ongoing asset & portfolio management, team leadership and stakeholder relationships in relation to Aware Super’s global infrastructure portfolio. This coverage includes infrastructure and infrastructure-like direct & managed investments.
Prior to Aware Super, Mark was a project director at Leighton Contractors for almost 5 years, responsible for direct equity investments in construction & PPP projects and consortium project leadership. Prior to that Mark was a senior member of the infrastructure team at ABN AMRO and subsequently Babcock & Brown for collectively almost 10 years where he was responsible for origination & execution of direct equity & debt investments, ongoing asset management, financial advisory, structuring & arranging roles in Sydney, San Francisco and New York.
Mark has also undertaken investment banking roles at Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi and Chase Manhattan Bank covering infrastructure financial advisory, international debt capital markets, foreign exchange and interest rate derivatives.
Mark holds a Bachelor of Laws and Commerce (Finance Major with Merit) from the University of New South Wales (1998). He is also a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Company Directors Course Diploma (2010).
