Simon joined MLC AM in February 2012 as head of investment risk and performance analysis, and up to November 2022 was head of investment portfolio analytics. He is a member of the MLC AM Investment Committee and of the MLC Private Equity Investment Committee.

Simon has more than 30 years of investment experience in Australia having worked in senior roles for several major domestic and international funds management and consulting firms including JANA (head of investment risk), Ibbotson Australia (now Morningstar Investment Management; as head of strategy), BT Investment Management/Pendal (head of quantitative investment strategies), Rothschild Asset Management (head of quantitative analysis) and MSCI BARRA (senior consultant).

Simon has a Masters in Applied Mathematics from Moscow University for Railway Engineers. Simon is a CFA Charterholder, and a member of the Q-Group Australia and CQA (Chicago Quantitative Alliance).
