Sophie joined HESTA in April 2024 as the head of investment execution and moved into the acting COO role in May 2026. She is responsible for leading the strategic development and coordination of HESTA’s operating model and ensuring it is a competitive differentiator in terms of cost effectiveness and the quality of member services. She also leads the third-party risk management ecosystem, manages business resilience, technology and data integration, financial crime and investment operations, analytics and valuations.

Sophie is a seasoned executive with 30 years’ experience in the financial services sector both in Australia and abroad (London, New York, San Francisco). She has held leadership roles at Citi, JP Morgan, NAB and BNY Mellon. Her strategic insights and global perspectives are a valued addition to HESTA’s executive team.

Sophie holds a graduate diploma in applied commerce (University of Melbourne), is a senior practitioner in active operations management and completed ‘accelerating change readiness and agility’ (UC Berkeley Executive Education).
