John joined Funds SA in 1995, commencing as a finance officer and then moving into the role of manager, accounting and support services. He was appointed to the role of chief financial officer in 1998, and subsequently to chief operating officer. He is responsible for managing the finance and investment operations for the corporation. This includes financial reporting, performance measurement, portfolio implementation, custody, tax and unit pricing.

Prior to joining Funds SA, John was an auditor with the SA Auditor Generals’ Department. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Accountancy (SA Institute of Technology), a Company Directors Course Diploma (Australian Institute of Company Directors) and has completed the Professional Management Program (Adelaide University). John is a member of CPA Australia, the Finance and Treasury Association and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
