Hugh is a highly experienced legal and governance professional with over 25 years of wealth management experience in Australia and overseas.
He has worked with a range of wealth management businesses, including Mercer, BT Financial Group, Qantas Super and Colonial First State as well as affiliates in other jurisdictions.
His experience includes senior legal, governance and risk management roles covering superannuation, asset management, managed funds, platforms, distribution, advice and insurance.
In his most recent role, Hugh provided governance support and advice to the trustee boards at Colonial First State across a wide range of matters. These included the separation of Colonial First State from CBA as a result of the sale to KKR, and the restructure of its trustee governance arrangements across its superannuation, managed funds and platforms businesses.
Prior to joining CFS, Hugh was the head of legal, risk & compliance at Qantas Super and before that chief legal counsel at BT Financial Group, where he managed a variety of legal, risk and compliance teams over more than 10 years.
Hugh holds a Bachelor of Civil Law and is admitted to practice law in New South Wales, England and Wales, and Ireland.
