Hendrie joined First Sentier Investors (FSI) in 2020 as head of the investment product research and assurance (IPRA) team, which is part of FSI’s global product function. The IPRA team supports the development and management of a profitable, sustainable, innovative and strategically-targeted product suite for FSI across all jurisdictions globally, in which FSI currently, or intend to, operate.

In particular, the IPRA team is responsible for overseeing the integrity of FSI’s investment offers and conducting a systematic assessment of all aspects of investment and portfolio risk by product category and aggregated across the FSI business. The team also conducts market research and mapping of customer demand across all regions, channels and asset classes to identify, explore and validate product opportunities that enable the matching of market demand with FSI’s investment capabilities.

Before joining FSI, Hendrie held senior roles at Nikko AM and Mercer Investments. At Nikko AM, he was the head of product and strategy for their Australian business, responsible for the end-to-end product function with a specific focus on product strategy. At Mercer, he was the director of strategic research for Mercer’s investments business in the Pacific region, with responsibility for house views in areas such as asset class research and portfolio construction, and development of the strategic research agenda. Hendrie also advised institutional clients on a wide range of issues including investment strategy, portfolio construction and investment manager selection.

Hendrie holds a BSc in actuarial science and a BCom (Hons) in investment management. He is a fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (UK) and a fellow of the Actuaries Institute (Australia).
