Drew consults to institutional superannuation funds and funds management organisations on all issues associated with the investment, risk, compliance and administration of investment portfolios. He has 25 years’ experience in the investment and financial services industry.
From 1984 to 1994, Drew worked at Schroders where he was responsible for the accounting, finance, product and client liaison functions of the funds management division. He also undertook responsibilities as head of the credit unit, where he was involved in the credit and risk management issues of the bank.
From 1994 to 1998, Drew was responsible for corporate trustee services at State Street in Sydney. In this role he managed the trustee business unit with assets under trusteeship of over $11 billion; specialist reporting and information services, including accounting and tax reporting; system reviews; and product and strategy development.
In 1998 Drew joined Mercer Investment Consulting as a principal, responsible for custody and investment administration consulting services.
Since 2005, Drew has provided independent, expert, consulting and advisory services to industry and government superfund boards as well as investment management firms on investment, administration, merger and public offer issues. Drew has provided advice to the Federal Government on superannuation investment structure, taxation and merger issues.
Drew holds a Bachelor of Business and Masters of Business (Applied Finance) from University of Technology – Sydney, he is also a CPA, a fellow of FINSIA and a J.P.
Drew has lectured for the CPA and FINSIA on superannuation investment, accounting and taxation subjects as well as being an expert speaker at industry conferences. Drew was also an Australian representative for the investor/consultant sub-committee of the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS). GIPS is the international body which sets standards for the measurement, analysis and reporting of investment performance returns.
