Anvij Saxena is a highly experienced chief risk officer and financial services executive. He is passionate about cultivating and leading high performing Australian and international teams to deliver optimal risk and customer outcomes.
Anvij spent the last 10 years at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia, where he was most recently executive general manager for operational risk and CRO for the bank’s business support functions. Anvij oversaw the design and management of operational risk within CBA. He also led CBA’s approach to model governance, operational risk capital and group insurance. Anvij was also the CRO for the bank’s support units (finance, HR, legal, risk management and marketing & corporate affairs).
Anvij also played a key leadership role in developing and implementing CBA’s remedial action plan in response to the APRA Prudential Inquiry Report. Prior to this, Anvij was the general manager operational risk of CBA’s retail bank and the chief risk officer of Colonial First State.
Anvij holds a Bachelor of Business (Distinction) and Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) from the University of Technology, Sydney, and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
