Alex commenced with QSuper (now Australian Retirement Trust) in November 2009. As senior portfolio manager in the investment strategy team, Alex is responsible for total portfolio positioning, including DAA risk budgeting and position sizing, and ensuring consistency between the team’s fundamental outlook and strategic portfolio settings.

Previously Alex was senior economist at the Queensland Treasury Corporation (QTC) from 2006 to 2009. He was responsible for analysing and forecasting the Australian and global economies to articulate the firm’s interest-rate view to internal and external stakeholders.

Alex commenced his career at the Australian Bureau of Statistics and the Australian Federal Treasury in Canberra in 2002.

He holds a Bachelor of Economics from Griffith University, a Master of Economics from the University of New England and a Graduate Diploma in Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia (FINSIA).
