George Takesian

Principal,
Mercer Sentinel

George Takesian is a principal and leads the Mercer Sentinel Pacific Operational Risk Group, based in Sydney. He has spent over 10 years in the team, specialising in assessing operational risk within investment management operations across all asset classes.

George is a voting member on the Mercer Sentinel Global Operational Risk Ratings Committee, and is a member of the SISG (Superannuation Industry Stewardship Group) and Financial Services Council (FSC) Fraud and Cybersecurity Working Groups.

Prior to joining Mercer Australia in May 2012, George worked for State Street in the United States where he managed investment compliance for mutual funds. He has also performed financial research for universities and worked at Mercer in Boston building a dynamic asset allocation platform.

George holds a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) from the University of Vermont (US), a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Massachusetts (US) and a Master of Cyber Security Operations degree from the University of New South Wales (Australia).
