An experienced information technology, security and risk leader with extended skills in cyber security, enterprise information risk, architecture, organisation design, people management, system application design, web and mobile technology solutions and associated information business strategy.
As chief information security officer (CISO) and head of technology at QIC, Grant leads the organisation’s cybersecurity strategy, technology operations, and resilience agenda. He is responsible for embedding security within enterprise risk frameworks and protecting sensitive financial and client data across QIC’s global operations. Grant champions a security-first culture across the business, guiding executives and stakeholders on technology risks and positioning QIC to securely innovate and adapt in an evolving digital and threat landscape.
Grant has a bachelor’s in information technology and a postgraduate diploma of business. An experienced security and risk professional, web developer and published author, he also maintains a solid understanding of the software development life cycle and is a regular contributor to opensource software. Also, a previously qualified infrastructure engineer and networking systems instructor, he has extensive experience with all areas of information technology.
Previously, Grant has worked as the head of technology for Bank of Queensland; as the manager for risk & compliance for one of Australia’s largest superannuation institutions; as CIO for an Australian/QLD Top 400 telecommunications integrator and supplier; and various national consulting positions with global security software companies.
