Sustainability Summit – Operationalising ESG

8 August 2024

Amora Hotel Jamison Sydney

The Sustainability Summit is a unique new forum, focused on best practice implementation of ESG in investment management.

While there is no shortage of challenges – including regulatory – it is clear that demand for sustainable investments will continue to grow among end-investors; that regulatory and transparency requirements are increasing; and that many institutional investors themselves realise their key position and aspire to be more involved in deploying capital to create impact.

There is industry discourse aplenty on this area already – largely focused on policy discussion and investment considerations – however a key area that many firms struggle with is how to operationalise their ideas and put strategy into action: how to comply with regulation; conduct effective due diligence; practically manage and govern sustainability data; ensure that risk and performance measurement is up to speed with industry best practice; and of course adopting an operational framework to support these while offering flexibility to allow for other evolving requirements.

This is the key difference of the Sustainability Summit – to further operational best practice and help firms actually embed ESG into their organisations.

It is intended as a forum for asset owners and other institutional investors to gather and discuss their challenges, to navigate the complexities and work towards making the industry more efficient for the benefit of all involved. We expect 80-100 senior investment and operational attendees.

The event will examine a selection of focused topics through presentations, panel sessions, discussion and Q&A.

Please note: this event will operate a closed-door format under the Chatham House rule; access is restricted to super funds/asset owners, insurers and fund management companies.
